Why a Juice Fast Diet?

Chemicals are all around us.  They are in the air we breath.  The clothes we wear.  The food we eat.  And these chemicals aren’t doing anything but hurting us.  Making us sick and shortening our lives.  So what can we do about it?

Is this where our food comes from today?

I’m not an expert, but if we would stop breathing, we wouldn’t have to worry about chemicals in the air anymore.  The only problem with that is we wouldn’t have to worry about anything anymore because we would be dead.  So that’s out.

Our clothes have all types of chemicals in them.  Between the colors that are dyed on the fabrics to how we wash them when they are dirty.  I’m sure there are some places in the world where clothes are optional.  But in our society today, being naked and doing day-today activities  at the same time would be frowned upon.

So that leaves us with the food we eat.  Some people don’t realize the amount of chemicals and preservatives that are in food today.  One of the major culprits is high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS).  Without going into a long and boring explanation of what HFCS is, I’ll just throw out a couple points:

  • HFCS is a sweetener that is in most of the products in your home right now.  Sometimes call “corn syrup” on your food labels.
  • It affects your eating habits.  It puts off that feeling of “being full” when you are eating.  Therefore, it makes you eat more to satisfy the craving.
  • Health concerns have been raised about high fructose corn syrup, which allege contribution to obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

This is something we can control! We are not forced to put anything into our body that we don’t want.  We can make smart choices everyday.
